This World is Not My Home, I’m Just a Passin’ Through

A New Adventure

After three years in Texas we have returned home to Michigan. It wasn’t any one thing that brought us home, but a combination of little things that told us we weren’t in our place.

The church family we had there were beautiful, loving people. They cared for us, loved us, and made us feel at home. And as much as we love them, living in Texas just felt a little “off”. Since we celebrated our 50th anniversary this month we decided to celebrate with a great adventure; coming back home was the one we chose.

Our church family here has welcomed us with great joy and love. They have graciously allowed us to stay in a room at the church building until we found a place of our own. As it turns out, we did just that this week; or rather, God found one for us and worked out the details.

It will be a fitting ending to our great adventure, because we will be living in a new place for us-a town near our old home of Cadillac named McBain. It’s a nice little town, close enough for shopping and worship but far enough for us to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle.

So, it’s goodbye Texan not Texan, and hello again to the Northernbear. Michigan never let go of us, and we’re happy it brought us back.
